Can you match my existing slates or tiles?
Usually yes. We source new slate and tiles, and can match reclaimed materials to blend with older roofs.
Slate or tile — which should I choose?
Both are excellent. Slate suits lower pitches and lasts a lifetime; concrete and clay tiles are cost-effective and robust. We will advise based on your roof's pitch and style.
Do you nail or clip tiles?
We fix to current standards, nailing or clipping as appropriate to the tile type, pitch and exposure of your roof.
My ridge mortar is cracking — does the whole roof need replacing?
Not necessarily. Often only the ridges need re-bedding or a dry-fix upgrade. We will tell you exactly what is needed.
Do you lay reclaimed slate?
Yes. Reclaimed slate is an excellent, sustainable choice for period properties and we can sort, grade and lay it correctly.
